Hello Oppo'
A colleague of mine wants to replace his Suzuki Swift Sport by a better car.
He's currently looking at used '09-ish VW Golf GTI and Audi S3.
He wants something with a bit of oomph, not too flashy looking, with options and under 24,000€. (Yep, Europe)
Any ideas?
(I voted for the GTI)

I vote for the GTI as well.
The RS3 is the Audi hot hatch i'd go for.

GTI all the way. Not sure about over there, but stateside you would come in well under that budget for an o9ish.

GTD with a DPF delete and a tune? It would make almost as much horsepower but over 70 wtq more than the GTI!

Would a Scirocco be too flash? BMW 1 series? Sportier models of the Mégane? Seat Leon version of the GTI?

What about an RCZ? With the THP 200 in it (though they might be a bit hard to find), or a Mégane RS ?

Both are really flashy (especially the RCZ driven mostly by old trophy wives and cheap golfers here).
I told him about the Mégane RS but he didn't bite. Too bad.

Doesn't exist in France. I'll mention the T5 though.

I agree on the RCZ, especially the HDI and the base THP. The R on the other hand. too bad it's still quite recent to be found at decent prices.

Would a 135i with the M package be too flashy? In the states you can get a spec'd 2010 low mileage coupe a couple grand under budget, I'm not sure if the hatches cost more.
Is the Subaru WRX hatch available there?
